Meet Dr. Thomas Lee Eaton
Undergraduate education was completed at the University of Missouri, and he received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago. Residency training was done at Northwestern University Medical Center. His first career was in Emergency Medicine in Chicago. In 1998 he joined a major vein specialty group where he underwent comprehensive training in Phlebology (specialty of venous disorders) with Dr. Brian McDonagh. Dr. Eaton later became the medical director in Milwaukee where he has continuously practiced this specialty. He served on the Board of Directors of the Venous Research Foundation under the leadership of Raj C. Guptan, MD, and was a contributing author of two significant publications dealing with vein disease and treatment. He has an active academic interest in venous medicine, and is a member of the American College of Phlebology, the Canadian Society of Phlebology, and the European Venous Forum. He received the honorary title of Fellow, American Society of Angiology (FASA), for his academic contributions. He has presented original research in Canada and Europe, and actively exchanges information with colleagues here and abroad. Vida Savickiene, MD, RVT
Diagnostic Imaging / Ultrasound Vida Savickiene, M.D., a native of Moletai, Lithuania, completed her medical education studies at Vilnius University, receiving her Medical Doctor Diploma at the Medical Faculty in 1987. She was a staff physician for 10 years at a large Emergency Station in Vilnius before moving to the United States. Her field of specialization was Pediatric Medicine, in which she earned the prestigious academic rank of “Highest Degree”. In 2001, she completed Vascular Ultrasound studies at the Technical School of Medicine in Chicago, and completed General/Small Parts ultrasound in 2002. She received additional training at the Access Health Center and at Weiss Memorial Hospital, both in Chicago. She has completed advanced studies in ultrasonography and has earned the degree of Registered Vascular Technologist. Vida has nearly four years experience exclusively in the field of venous ultrasound imaging and diagnostics. Vida is a highly respected training ultrasonographer in venous medicine, and she is, along with Dr. Eaton, co-author of a scientific study, Chronic Venous Insufficiency: The Morphology of Disease- Lessons Learned from 200 Duplex Mappings, presented to the Canadian Society of Phlebology, October 2003, Montreal. In addition to her native Lithuanian, she is fluent in both the Russian and English languages. She lives with her family in Hainesville, Illinois. All other interests and hobbies have been put aside in preference for her new grandson, Andrew. Denise Pfeifer, RN, BSN
Denise has enjoyed her many experiences in the nursing field for the past fifteen years. She has extensive background in rehabilitation and orthopedic specialties, and also spent several years in cardiac ICU, medical/surgical, community-based residential facility nursing, and health coaching. Her intrigue and desire to study sclerotherapy stemmed from her own experience with varicose veins. After watching her grandmother endure the pain and problems of varicose veins, she sought expert treatment in the field, and arrived at Dr. Eaton’s office. Aside from enjoying her nursing career, Denise loves most to spend time with her family. She and her husband, Steve, married 18 years, have four beautiful and gifted children. The family background is composed of German, French, Slovenian, and Native American heritages; all of which have contributed to a wonderful array of personalities in their household! Besides inspiring and encouraging her children in their activities, Denise is involved in parish activities, including Human Concerns at her parish and in the greater community. When there is time for relaxation, which she states is very minimal, she enjoys sewing, knitting, gardening, and baking. Jennifer Cousineau
Office Manager Jennifer Cousineau comes from a Military background. Her father, a career Army soldier, while stationed in Europe, married a woman from Stuttgart, Germany. Jenny was later born in Stuttgart, Germany, the birthplace of many other fine things, including Porsche and Mercedes. As military assignments change often, so does the family move often. Throughout her childhood, Jenny was stationed back and forth between Germany and various Army bases in the United States. Things stabilized a bit after her father retired following 20 years with the Army. In 1993, Jenny found herself graduating from high school from Manhattan High School in Manhattan, Kansas. She then attended the Manhattan Area Technical College (MATC) studying Office Technology. Upon graduation from MATC, she pursued her career in office administration. In 1996, she met her husband of 6 years at Ft. Riley (you guessed it, a military base), Kansas. Their first assignment together was in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Following 2 years adapting to mountain life, they were transferred way up North to Germantown, WI. Her husband, Jeremy, a Sergeant First Class, serves as a Station Commander for Milwaukee North Recruiting Station, U.S. Army. She has two beautiful girls. Savanah Marie, 10-years-old, and Caitlin Rea, now 5-years-old, occupy most of her free time. Besides her family, Jennifer’s other hobbies are computers, and, of course, shopping. She claims high proficiency in the shopping. She also very much enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and she loves to travel. Jenny considers her English as her language, but remains quite fluent in her native German. Noch einmal Bier, bitteBo Eaton Born Boguslawa Maria Bierczynska in Lubaczow, Poland, she has now become known simply as Bo. Foreign words and names can be difficult for Americans. Her father, Bazyli, had fought with the allies in WWII under General Anders, winning the ‘Road to Rome’ at Monte Casino, Italy. Her mother, Maria, had been taken by the Germans at age 16, and made a farm laborer in Germany. When the war ended, they both were transported to Italy, met, and later married. Bo was their 3rd and last child, and only girl. Eventually back in Poland, her father then fought communism on a political basis, and his dream of going to America became his daughter’s dream. For her, this was realized in 1989 when she arrived in Chicago with very little money and a strong desire to work. Jobs included cleaning houses by day and office buildings by night, with free-time occupied by studying English. Having a healthcare background from Poland, she eventually met Dr. Eaton, and as you might have guessed, they were married. Bo continued to study English and has worked at Harper College and for a Chicago law firm. She is an extraordinary cook and blends all culinary styles with produce and herbs from her garden. She loves telling stories about her childhood and watching after her family. In addition to her native Polish, she speaks English and Russian, and does quite well with most of the Slavic languages, while her Swedish, German and Italian are getting rusty. Karen Lake
Karen has been settled here for eight years, after also residing in Michigan and Connecticut. She was born and raised in Vermont, and attended Champlain College in Burlington graduating with a Dental Assistant degree. While growing up, she played piano and alto saxophone in the high school band and performed in a stage band. Her favorite time was spent around the numerous horses and ponies they raised on their family homestead. She frequently spoils us with maple syrup products and has taught us all how to correctly pronounce the word 'syrup.' She and her husband, Jim, have been happily married for 31 years. Their son Michael resides in the area as well. Jim and Karen enjoy riding their Harley frequently during the warmer months of Wisconsin's climate. They also have another family member, although he has four paws, named Bennington. Karen most enjoys spending time with her family, but also savors the time she can in the garden, which is most beautiful as she is also a certified Master Gardener. She also enjoys baking, reading, crosswords, and traveling. |
